John Barnes is an accomplished, results oriented real estate executive with nearly 30 years of professional experience in the real estate industry.  Mr. Barnes serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Reckson.  In this capacity Mr. Barnes is responsible for the year-over-year financial performance and day-to-day operations of the 2.4 million sf Suburban portfolio with annual revenues in excess of $60 million. 

 

Mr. Barnes has extensive operations, acquisitions, leasing and property management experience working for two of the most prominent real estate companies in the industry- Reckson/RXR and SL Green Realty Corp. He has led his local team in the acquisition and integration of seven million sf of Class A suburban office properties in Stamford, Greenwich, Westchester and New Jersey.   In addition, he played an integral role during the acquisition and due diligence of Reckson’s four million sf, New York City portfolio, as well as the acquisition of the 3.6 million sf Arden Portfolio in Southern California. 

 

Prior to joining Reckson, Mr. Barnes was responsible for property operations with Halpern Enterprises and served in various property/project management roles at Verizon.

 

Among his professional designations, Mr. Barnes is a member of the Board of Directors of the Westchester County Association and past President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Westchester.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for Arts Westchester.

 

Mr. Barnes holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University (1989).  Mr. Barnes is also a certified RPA (Real Property Administrator) by BOMI. (Building Owners and Managers International)
